Sweet Tea Sundays: 29 July, 2018

Happy Sunday, y’all! It’s the end of a long, well-traveled Louisville Burger Week. Yes, I got way too many stamps in my passport. Yes, my credit card is crying. Yes, I’m eating vegetarian for the rest of forever.

That being said, who’s down to invent Louisville Pizza Week??

So aside from jogging off several pounds of hamburgers and drinking my weight in water everyday, I don’t have many plans for this week! Luckily, that means that I have some time to bake and work on some recipes. Hopefully I’ll have new recipes ready soon, as well as another trip recap. In case you missed the latest one, here’s my recap of Paris!

Hopefully you’ve got a nice relaxed week planned ahead too. Whether you’re planning on lounging around after work or redoing your entire house in your spare time, take this moment to relax and unwind and enjoy some of the best stories in food this week.

On the Web

Turns out your super expensive water filter might not be all that necessary – especially if you live somewhere that’s known for having great water (shout-out to the 502!).

I’m obsessed with how fresh this corn and feta salad from Leela at LexEats looks! It’s a great way to use ingredients you can find at your late-summer farmer’s market.

Speaking of refreshing, how great does this spritz cocktail look from JCPEats? The Bluegrass Bloggers really know how to take some of the sting out of this humid Kentucky heat, and I’m so thankful.

On Spotify

Ok, so I’m just a little bit obsessed with Radical Face. The folk sound may not be for everyone, but Ben Cooper’s lyrics are so deep and moving that I can’t help but get sucked in. He’s got a series of albums written about a fictional family from the 1800’s (mixed with some real-life family experiences of his own) that I can’t wait to explore. If you like folk at all, I definitely recommend him!

Around Town

Louisville Burger Week is winding down, but there’s still time today! Get out there and get some $5 burgers. My personal favorite is the PB&J from Bluegrass Burgers. Peaches, pistachio butter, and goat cheese? YES PLEASE.

ALEX&DER cocktail bar at Copper & Kings is having a full menu release party this Wednesday! Be sure to check out their selection, along with some live music on their skydeck. It all starts at 5 PM on the 1st!
