Cozy up this winter with this spiked hot chocolate that warms you from the inside out!
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups milk (anything from skim to heavy cream, depending on how thick you like your hot chocolate)
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate
  • 1 cup red wine

Instructions

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the chocolate into the milk, stirring often. When they are combined, take the pot off of the heat and stir in the red wine until heated through, putting back on the burner on low heat if necessary. Serve it up in mugs and enjoy!

Notes

  • Recipe originally found here.
  • This is a really rich drink, and can get kind of thick, so make sure you have someone to share it with!
  • I've also made this with cinnamon to make a Mexican hot chocolate variety, and it was amazing! Feel free to add anything you normally would to hot chocolate that you think would pair well with the wine (marshmallows, cream, etc.)
